The role  

Needed: a Strategic Performance Director. You will be responsible for delivering the growth strategy on clients working across both Space & Time and EG Media. You will have direct ownership of S&T clients whilst working in tandem with EG’s Client Experience team and S&T's specialist teams to develop a strategic roadmap for EG clients. 

They need a highly commercial strategist with a strong digital media background - setting out a plan to transparently deliver tangible value for the client brand by integrating the agency’s considerable resources, expertise, tech and innovations with the client’s marketing needs across a range of paid, earned, owned and borrowed channels. All of this is to ensure a standard in keeping with EG Media’s industry-leading Client Experience model. 

What will you be doing?

Communication 

  • Ensure client information is shared appropriately across internal teams. 
  • Proactively contribute to the agency's marketing communications through case studies and blog submissions. 

Role Management 

  • Relationship development with client-group marketing team, supporting the account strategy, client development and key stakeholder relationships. Building trust at every level of the client relationship. 
  • Manage resources across their clients to ensure outstanding service delivery and quality of work. 
  • Confidently and effectively manage conflict or issues, delivering positive outcomes for both the client and agency. 
  • Demonstrate professional behaviours, both internal and external, and communicates expectations of professional behaviours to team. Manages and mentors the team in developing skills in this area. 

Commercial Acumen 

  • Be proactively involved with the strategic client roadmap and the diversification/onboarding of new agency capabilities. 

Leadership & Initiative 

  • Take on the responsibility of line management and personal development of their assigned team. Conducting appraisals, setting clear objectives and KPIs. 
  • Proactively acquire the skills of performance management and seek training in these areas where required. 

Strategic Excellence                            

  • Be an authority on appropriate spending by objective/ channel/ campaign, demonstrating confidence in challenging client approach and developing and evolving best practice. 
  • Develop robust strategies for clients and supports the learning/ training of more junior colleagues in the S&T planning process. 

Who are they looking for?

You must... 

  • Be adept at challenging clients and suppliers as an authority on marketing strategy, as well as displaying diplomacy and influence whether by phone, email or face to face. 
  • Possess sound commercial awareness on their client(s) by spend and profitability (e.g., pacing/ YoY trends). 
  • Be an expert communicator, especially in presenting to senior client contacts or in new business pitches. 
  • Be comfortable fielding commercial challenges from clients i.e., rate negotiations and scope of offering. 
  • An effective delegator with strong listening skills and the ability to support and motivate a team 
  • A highly proficient media planner with a comprehensive knowledge of all media channels and their respective roles in campaign objectives. 
  • Have full understanding of all business division capabilities (media, technology, performance creative and training) and the ability to plan these within a client roadmap.    
  • Have the ability to unearth and leverage growth opportunities for the client, without a brief.
